Modified on: Thu, 8 Mar, 2018 at 12:59 PM

Apple TV 4 remote:

Note: Apple TV 4K remotes are the same as the Apple TV 4, with one minor exception in that there's a white circle around the Menu button. Functionality remains the same as the Apple TV 4 remote.

To Restart the Apple TV:

Hold down the Menu and Home buttons until the status light on your Apple TV begins to flash. Then let go.

Alternatively, you can also go to Settings, scroll down to System and then select Restart.

To put the Apple TV to Sleep:

Press and hold the Home button, then select Sleep.

Alternatively, you can also go to Settings, scroll down, and select Sleep Now.

Note: While restarting the Apple TV 4 via the method shown above generally fixes most issues, should any error or technical hiccup you're experiencing remain, please put the Apple TV to sleep and then unplug the power adapter for a few seconds before plugging it back in and giving it another try.
