Using My Private Network with Multimedia Android devices

Modified on: Wed, 7 Mar, 2018 at 10:12 AM

We've received a number of queries from our customers on using our service with multimedia based Android devices.

These devices range from 1080p streaming boxes to 4k, standard (Stock) Android and heavily or slightly modified Android configurations.

Whatever the device uses, as long as you're using an Android based device, our VPN manager app should work fine.

Please give our VPN manager app a try by following the instructions in the link below:

In the event that our VPN manager app does not work on your device, please try our IKEv2 VPN protocol instead, by following the instructions in the link below:

https://www.my-private-network.co.uk/android-ikev2-manual-setup/

Failing that, please give our L2TP VPN a try by following the instructions in the link below:

https://www.my-private-network.co.uk/android-l2tp-setup/

Please note that the instructions in the link above were written based on generic Android settings. As you might be using a slightly modified version of Android, your settings may differ, especially when looking for the settings screen from your main menu.

If the L2TP VPN in the link above still does not work for you, we have another VPN protocol called PPTP. Please give this a try by following the instructions in the link below:

https://www.my-private-network.co.uk/android-pptp-setup/

Please give the suggestions above a try and if you're still having issues with the VPN, please contact our technical support team at support@my-private-network.co.uk and we'll do our best to assist further.
